Satellite Timesynch: We installed a GPS receiver in a power plant to update all PCs (SCADA, CEMS, etc) and DCS and electrical DPUs. Before the installation all the PCs were at different times. During an outage a trip it was hard to distinguish what happened first. Having all systems on the same time increased efficiency for solving problems. PCs do not keep time on their own very well, they need to be synched at least everyday.
